Saw V

This was the fifth movie in the Saw serious, and like the rest, it progressively goes down hill. In my opinion the first was the best and then so on down the line. This particular film was very short and not very graphic as most of the other Saw films are. The storyline follows what would happen right after the end of Saw 4. You find out who is now behind the jigsaw murders, and to be honest....not a very good choice. The cast on this film was terrible...the two main guys looks so much alike you would think they were twins! If not for one slight difference (not to be given away) you would never know who was the good guy and who was the bad guy.
The film centered around team work and as my friend suggested would be a good office place team building video:)
All in all, not a great movie, not even a good movie. Possibly an okay movie and it's definitely for those like me who see them all just to see if perhaps they have surpassed the old scary movie series of the past. However, true to form just like the Nightmare on Elm Street (which is a personal favorite) went down hill after a while...so does Saw.

The Last House on the Left (new Version)

This was actually not a bad movie, it wasn’t so much my personal taste. I prefer zombies, vampires and other supernatural beings to the run of the mill human villain. Although there is something to be said about the directing throughout this film. It was very up close and personal and you felt almost as if you were there right along with them. I think that the scenes in the woods were particularly disturbing, and dragged out too long for me. However, they did give a very real sense to the pain and suffering which can be inflicted. I enjoyed the ending, for obvious reasons I won’t disclose much, but it isn’t everyday you have an ending such as this one.
If you like the typical human villain, and suspense with a slight amount of gore, then this is for you!

New to Blogging

Hi all! I am pretty new to this and I think I might like it:) For years I have been an avid Scary Movie watcher:) I enjoy it all from Zombies, Vampires, Frankenstein, to Deranged Lunatics and Sharks:) I have a very strong opinion of all the scary movies I watch, and I plan on sharing them. While I have no official degree in film or acting, I consider my few years of employment at the local video store to be more then enough "training". However if you disagree with anything I say, please feel free to comment! I am very respectful and realize that not everyone has the same taste in films. I only hope to offer up something that I myself am trying to find:) So, yes comment, comment away:) Especially if you can offer up some suggestions of your own! I believe that we as a scary movie fan community need to reach out and share these wonderful gems!

It should also be noted as we move forward that most of my blogs will concentrate on the independent, smaller titles. Nothing against my friend the "blockbuster", but I have found over the years that the smaller, quieter scares are worth more than all the ticket sales.

So stay tuned......
